Session 5- Week 1- Year 5
Meet your new Squad
Each session the heroes switch squads. They use their squads to complete team builders and various activities. It is also studio mates that they can lean on for support. Meet the new squads and their creative squad names!
Open House
The heroes worked really hard to start off the week to get their studio ready for open house! They cleaned and organized with excellence. They also displayed some of the works that they use off of the shelves with their tracker folders and wrote out frequently asked questions. The energy level was high during the out of normal routine events, but when it was all said and done these heroes led strangers around their studio with such pride and ownership! Each set of tour guides (the heroes) came back with such eagerness to greet the next family interested in seeing their studio and learning about Acton! Thank you to all the heroes and families that came to open house and helped make it a success!
Local Hero Visit
This past week and next week the heroes will be learning about different African American Heroes and their accomplishments. This week we had a very special visitor to share his hero’s journey with both studio’s. Mr. Stitch Guillory our Sheriff elect came and talked to the heroes about his journey on becoming the sheriff and how he keeps everyone safe! Thank you Mr. Stitch for taking time out of your schedule to come and share your journey with us!
The heroes are keeping a timeline of the different heroes we will be highlighting over the next couple of weeks, Mr. Stitch will be the final one in the timeline! The other heroes we learned about this week include:
